Easy Family Recipe: Chicken a la King Jazzed Up with Jolly Cream of Mushroom

I've been using Jolly canned products for years. One of my family's favorite dishes is Chicken a la King which, I believe, would be a good recipe to share this Christmas season. It's a great change from the usual Fried Chicken or Chicken Adobo that families usually prepare for meals.

my Chicken a la King dish
This recipe is very easy to do because strict measurements are not needed, seriously! Just follow my instructions :)

ingredients for Chicken a la King
First, cut 1 kg. of chicken breasts into serving pieces. Season them with about 1 tsp. salt and steam until cooked.

steam chicken breasts seasoned with salt
While steaming the chicken, chop 1 onion and 1 piece each of red and green bell peppers to add festive colors to your dish. Sauté these in 1 tbsp. of Doña Elena Olive Oil mixed with 2 tbsps. butter for a few seconds. Add the steamed chicken meat and stir fry for about 1 minute.

sauté onion and bell pepper in olive oil and butter
Next, add 2 cans of Jolly Cream of Mushroom, 1 can of Jolly Mushrooms Pieces and Stems, and 1 can of Jolly Water Chesnuts (cut each piece into 4 before cooking). Include the water/soup of the mushrooms and water chestnuts because it will help dilute the cream of mushroom.

stir fry chicken
FYI, you have the option to add other veggies like young corn or baguio beans for more colors and textures. You can also add dashes of salt and pepper to taste although the butter and cream of mushroom already give the dish a lot of flavor.

simmer dish before serving
Wait for the dish to boil then simmer it for around 5 to 10 minutes more. Very easy, right? This Chicken a la King already serves 5 to 6 people. Note that Jolly Cream of Mushroom Soup is high in protein, making it a good source of energy. It is a quality product from the U.S.A. made from carefully selected ingredients that make everyday simple dishes more creamy and delicious.
