Jolly Cow Fresh Milk Encourages Children to Achieve Their Dreams

Mine is a milk-drinking family. Every trip to the supermarket includes a couple or more big packs of fresh milk. I like drinking it straight while hubby and the boys prefer to drown their cereals with it.

Jolly Cow's mascot
When I received an invite to join a Jolly Cow Fresh Milk event at Angelicum College two weeks ago, I had no hesitations of saying yes because, incidentally, this is the brand of fresh milk that we actually use at home!

My children are all in their teens now (three of them are already taller than me!) but they haven’t outgrown their love for milk and I am very thankful for that. Like many moms, I also believe in the many benefits of drinking this beverage every day. And it was great to know that brands like Jolly Cow are making efforts to spread the word to as many school children as possible.

Wanlu and his soft puppet
In Angelicum, grade school children happily absorbed lessons about the importance of drinking milk from versatile puppeteer Wanlu. He made good use of his puppets to teach the kids in creative and entertaining ways; even the teachers and guests, like us, found ourselves smiling and laughing at his many jokes and antics.

kids having a lot of fun while learning
From Wanlu, the kids learned the consequences of not having enough calcium in one’s daily diet. Although calcium requirement differs for gender and age, there are general indications of calcium deficiency in kids: their height is shorter than that of other kids their age, they have thinner bodies than other kids of the same age, they are more prone to tooth decay, they end up having frequent absences from school due to various health problems, and they are unable to excel in various extra-curricular activities because of being matamlay, mahina ang pangangatawan, and pagiging lampa.

Wanlu taught the kids how to make sock puppets
The above-mentioned parameters are quite alarming if we think about it because they are very much preventable! Parents should really encourage their children to drink fresh milk everyday because:

• Milk helps kids cope during growth spurts
• Milk helps provide complete nutrition during puberty
• Milk contains protein, which helps rebuild muscles
• Milk helps kids become smarter
• Milk aids kids to get stronger
• Milk is a great source of Calcium which is needed for better bone and teeth development

You may ask, why advocate drinking fresh milk instead of the powdered ones? Here are several good reasons:
1. It’s 100% natural because it undergoes a process that lengthens shelf life without the addition of chemicals or fortifications.
2. It contains all the nutrients of milk like calcium, protein, carbohydrates, and more that are good for the body.
3. It is convenient and easy to prepare. You just chill it inside the ref, pour, then drink.
4. It is consistent in quality. Unlike with powdered milk, which always depends on how it is mixed with water, there’s no guessing game when it comes to getting the full health benefits in fresh milk.

As to the brand to buy, my family prefers Jolly Cow Fresh Milk because it is not that expensive and it tastes really good. It also contains 3.5% butterfat content, which is higher than in other brands thus its creamier taste.

Before the Angelicum students left the gym, they were given personalized milk bottles printed with their photos wearing the uniforms of what they want to be when they grow up. I’m sure each of those excited kids rushed home that day to show their parents their beautiful bottle that, I hope, would further inspire them to reach for their dreams when they finally grow up.

Judy Ann Santos Agoncillo Joins the J&J Family

Most people know Judy Ann Santos Agoncillo as a certified box-office and award-winning actress. After all, she has played good roles in many successful movies. But aside from this accomplishment, Juday considers being a wife and mother her best roles yet. Behind the lights and cameras is a devoted family woman who loves spending quality time with her husband and kids.

Her image as a fulfilled wife and mom is very much evident when we see her in many TV commercials as she gets chosen to endorse products that are perfectly suited for her and her brood. She admits that her family inspires her to provide them with the best care she could which, in turn, also gives her the utmost happiness.

And since her family is at the top of Juday’s priorities, she makes sure to come home as early as possible after work and to be there for her daughter and son when they need her. “[It’s] hard to leave the house and spend time away from my loved ones,” she admits adding that making decisions is tougher nowadays because they will have a big impact on her family and children.

Juday shares that there is one choice that she is very happy about and that is trusting Johnson’s Baby Milk Bath to take care of Yohan and Lucho’s skin. She says she has loved the Johnson & Johnson brand for years and is glad that she shares the company’s commitment to giving the best skin care for kids.

I also use J&J products on my kids and love the smell of all milk bath variants as well as many of Johnson’s colognes and lotions. I am not surprised that younger moms like Juday also choose to have J&J as a partner in raising children with healthy skin. “Just like how it took care of my skin while growing up, it takes such good care of Yohan and Lucho’s skin, so I’m definitely gonna keep using Johnson’s!”  says the multi-talented mom who  has has been making the right choices and is giving the best care possible for the people she loves.

Loads of Memories Gathered During Nuffnang's Nuffamily Day :)

Summer vacation is over and the kids are about to go back to school soon. Sadly, our family wasn't able to go out of town due to my, and hubby's, work demands plus hubby's recent hospital confinement.

When Nuffnang announced in May that they'll be hosting a picnic for 50 members and their families, I eagerly joined the blogging contest and hoped to be chosen so that we could at least unwind for a day before classes start.

Last Saturday, the much-awaited Nuffamily Day arrived. Since we're bringing along our son with special needs, hubby and I opted to hire a van instead of joining the other families who rode the Nuffnang bus. We left the house a little early (thank goodness the heavy rain stopped!) because I wanted to stop by Solenad in Nuvali to show the kids the hundreds of koi fish there which seemed to be always waiting to be fed by visitors :p

In less than half an hour, we were on our way again to Tagaytay. We arrived at the serenely beautiful Crosswinds (the groves upon groves of pine trees would make you feel like you're in Baguio!) before the busses and enjoyed chatting with the very accommodating Nuffnang staff who were already there. We had more time to explore the fenced in picnic area, a small, flat hill overlooking some very nice scenery, and take some pictures.

Pretty soon, the other families arrived and the fun and games began. Nuffnang and its sponsors prepared a lot  of food and activities. Almost everyone participated in the laughter-inducing games. I still hope to see a photo of my family joining the newspaper dance and the-boat-is-sinking game because we did some crazy stuff that had many of us howling with glee.

When darkness fell, blue and white (Nuffnang's colors!) paper lanterns were distributed. Groups started lighting the wax attached to the lantern's base. It was quite hard to do because the wind kept blowing our candle out. Finally, after a lot of waiting for the hot air to fill out the balloon, our first lantern flew! Soon after, hubby and the boys also got to make the second lantern fly.

It was so wonderful seeing all those floating lights up in the dark sky. I'd bet that particular moment became very special to everyone present that night. It is a memory worth saving and I'm very, very happy to spend that moment with all the boys in my life.

Thank you Nuffnang for making Nuffamily Day wonderful for everyone who was there. And thank you to all the sponsor products and services that made the day/night extra special :) For more photos, please click here.

Nuffamily Day!

Nice events, exciting promos, and cool prizes! Those are just some of the things I love about Nuffnang Philippines.

I've been a member of this website since October 2009 and I've already been to several of their events. Those were occasions where I constantly meet a lot of nice people such as fellow bloggers and very accommodating Nuffnang staff like Anne, Trixie, and Rendhl.

I appreciate how Nuffnang caters to both male and female bloggers. They hold events and promos for moms but they also offer exciting prizes for single people and men. Next week, they'll be having a Nuffamily Day and I'd really love to be part of that. See, my family and I haven't had the chance yet to go out of town and fully enjoy the summer break. There always seemed to be a lot of stuff to attend to at home and at work that hubby and I hadn't the time, nor the energy, to make solid plans.

But when I read that Nuffnang will be holding a family day that involves floating lanterns, a special scene from the movie Tangled came to mind. I'd love to experience that with my hubby and our four boys! I can just imagine our eyes lighting up at an awesome sight such as dozens of lights flying upwards. My son with special needs, most especially, would definitely find that amazing.

If we do get to go, we'll just be meeting up with the group in Tagaytay. It would be hard to travel by bus with all the paraphernalia that I always need to bring when traveling with my special child. I really look forward to having fun with fellow Nuffies and their families. The Nuffamily Day promises to be a special chance to create wonderful memories for everyone.

Thanks in advance to Nuffnang's sponsors for making the event possible :)
