Daiso Japan Partners with Cosplay Mania 2016

Daiso Japan, the number one supplier of living ware goods and more popularly known for its 100 yen stores in Japan, teamed up for the second time with Cosplay.ph Organization, Inc. in this year's biggest and most popular cosplay event in the Philippines

Cherry Blossom tree!
The much-awaited Cosplay Mania 2016 was recently held in SMX Convention Center this past weekend. It was attended not only by cosplayers but also by hobbyists, artists, and performers who engaged in cosplay solo showdowns, costume building contests, and exciting team battles.

Spiderman overload with these creative young people
My husband and I dropped by to admire the creativity of young and young-at-heart Filipinos who love cosplaying. Expectedly, we saw a lot of familiar characters that range from anime and cartoons to movie superheroes and villains. My favorite would have to be an adorable kid named Princess Margaret in a Sailor Moon costume who gamely posed for a photo with me.

cutest Sailor Moon cosplayer, ever

Aside from being wowed by all the creative getups, guests also got to do fun activities in various booths using the Con Quest stamp card. We weren't able to find all of them but had fun with those we had a chance to visit.

I was able to make a paper crane!
I enjoyed learning how to make an origami paper crane at the Embassy of Japan booth. The activity reminded me of the song Thousand Cranes by Hiroshima that remain one of my favorites from the '80s era. Daiso Japan, on the other hand, had a lovely Cherry Blossom tree that everyone can take a picture with.

Cosplay fans enjoyed browsing Daiso's shelves filled with authentic products from Daiso Industries Ltd. Japan. These include Japanese snacks, makeup essentials, and kawaii hair and fashion accessories to complete any cosplayer's look.
