Red Kitchen + Bar at River Park, Festival Supermall Hosts Comedy Cartel’s Southern Exposure Show

I love going to River Park in Festival Mall, Muntinlupa City. It is a great place to unwind because aside from seven different dining concepts, it is surrounded by lush greens and centered on a flowing river that's 1.5km long.

Last year, Alabang residents and visitors enjoyed watching a Light and Sound Show and performances from different celebrities during the Christmas season. Early this year, my husband and I celebrated Valentine’s Day by dining at Mati’s Meat and Bread.

Recently, we had dinner at Red Kitchen + Bar, another great place located in River Park. There, sports enthusiasts can cheer for their favorite teams with the lounge’s high-definition TVs.

Couples, families, and groups of friends will also find it a nice place to unwind because Red serves really great food and provides entertainment such as live music, comedy acts, and rockeoke on Friday nights.

This past Saturday, my husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Red and trying out some of their wonderful dishes. Everything is delicious from the appetizers, pasta, main course, and desserts!

After eating, we trooped upstairs to watch Southern Exposure, a show organized by Comedy Cartel. Our funny bones were tickled by comedians Sherwin Cunanan, first runner-up of Comedy Cartel’s Laugh & Stack Open Mic Showdown; Rene Cruz Jr., one of the writers behind the long-running GMA7 comedy show Bubble Gang, and Ruther Urquia, a finalist of Pilipinas Got Talent Season 1.

Urquia combines the art of comedy with ventriloquism, which makes his act unique. Aside from also finding acclaim as part of the ABS-CBN show Wako-Wako, he is also the first Filipino ventriloquist-comedian to headline a show in Los Angeles, U.S.A.

All the guys were funny but I think it is fair to say that what totally brought the house down was when Urquia brought out his puppet and proceeded with his hilarious conversation with his “guest”. I found myself wiping tears of mirth from laughing too much!

Visit River Park and also enjoy dining outdoors to appreciate the nice views, the cool breeze, and calming sound of water, especially after the sun goes down. It is definitely a great place to unwind from the stresses of work and city driving.
