The South of Metro Manila is very much thriving these days and I am personally glad about it because I live here! There are now lots of new establishments, including must-go-to restaurants, that are just waiting to be discovered.
Spending Valentine's Day together |
One of the newest places to explore is River Park in Filinvest City, Alabang located just behind Festival Supermall. Last Saturday, it being Valentine's Day, hubby and I found time to be away from the kids for a few hours. We decided to spend it together, somewhere near, without getting caught in the expected heavy traffic that comes with such occasions.
Mushroom Soup |
Caesar Salad |
The Mushroom Soup and Caesar Salad were perfect starters that whetted our appetites.
Mango Juice |
Hubby wanted to try the Oyster Rockefeller and the melted cheese on top drizzled with a few drops of juice from the accompanying lemon wedges made them even more delicious.
Oysters |
I have to rave about the beef dishes though because the taste and doneness of the meat are perfect! I ordered the Beef Salpicao with Rice while hubby had the USDA Steak with Mashed Potato and Vegetables. Both were very flavorful and I can't wait to visit this place again so I could finish a whole plate of the steak dish by myself! The prices (P385.00 each) are very affordable given the quality of the beef!
Beef Salpicao |
If you find yourself in our part of the Metro, do take time to drop by River Park and look for Mati's Meats and Bread. I believe you'll be happy customers, too, like we were :)
Steak with mashed potato and veggies |
Oh, and I should mention that the view of a flowing river and a very pretty park outside the glass walls make eating at Mati's more memorable!
