Satisfy Food Cravings at Taal Vista Hotel's New Veranda Restaurant

Tagaytay remains one of the nicest travel destinations that is accessible by car or bus and is near Metro Manila. For those who are looking for accommodations for overnight or several days' stay, I'd recommended Taal Vista Hotel (read my review, here) because it has a great location and very nice facilities.

dine on this beautiful table setup with your loved ones!
The last time my family and I were in Tagaytay, Cafe Veranda was being renovated so we didn't get to dine there. A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I finally did and it was very enjoyable to have lunch overlooking the panoramic view of the Taal Lake and Volcano.

I love the look of the new Veranda Restaurant. The colors of the sofas and chairs are cool on the eyes. They're very comfy, too! Plus, it's great having all those huge glass walls that let in natural light and provide guests with the stunning vista outside.

cheese and Japanese food stations
Foodies would be delighted to know that Veranda serves a wide variety of Continental and Filipino heirloom dishes. There's a Japanese food station with yummy sushis, an Italian food station that offers interesting pasta varieties, a Pizza section displaying several pizza flavors, and many others.

pizzaaaaa!
My favorite sections though would be the salad bar and the Filipino station that has some of our well-loved comfort foods like Bulalo and Sinigang na Sugpo.

Parents with young kids would appreciate the Kids' Corner where little ones can get their own food without difficulty because the dishes are placed within their reach. Choices include baked macaroni, chicken nuggets, fries, and burgers. Even adults would enjoy lining up, here!

Of course, another blockbuster station would have to be the dessert area where one could find it very difficult which sweet treats to pick without overloading on the calories. I went for an ice cream cone and a couple of small slices of cake all the while resisting the urge to get cookies and other tempting desserts. The guys in our group were a different story, though 😛

So, the next time you happen to be in Tagaytay, whether it's a day or overnight trip, find time to drop by Veranda where you'll experience the best Filipino hospitality and tradition in a fresh new light! Veranda is open daily from 6AM to 11PM.
