Foodies who love Korean cuisine probably have chap chae in their list of favorite dishes. It's one of mine and very seldom does my family eat in Korean restaurants without ordering one. Now, we can satisfy cravings for this noodle dish at home with McCormick's Chap Chae Noodle and Seasoning Mix!
a dish that's very easy to cook! |
Following the recipe and preparing the ingredients are actually very easy! The delightful thing is, the end product really tastes like authentic chap chae. I've already tried cooking it twice (the second time using two packs because one is not enough to satisfy my boys) and, as a chap chae fan, I am honestly very happy with the results.
what's inside the pack |
- 1 pack McCormick Chap Chae Noodle and Seasoning Mix (contains noodles, seasoning mix, and sesame oil)
- 1/4 cup water
- 100 grams thinly sliced sirloin (or beef tenderloin)
- 20 grams shitake mushrooms, sliced (I tried fresh and dried ones; both serve the purpose well. Just soak the dried shitake in water first for a few minutes before slicing. If you love mushrooms like we do, you can also use more than the recommended amount.)
- 1 medium carrot, cut into matchstick sized strips
- 50 grams spinach leaves (if not available, substitute with kangkong leaves)
chap chae ingredients |
Directions for cooking:
- Boil the noodles for 5 minutes, drain, and rinse with cold water
- Dissolve the McCormick Chap Chae Seasoning Mix in 1/4 cup of water; set aside
- Saute the sirloin and test if it's already tender before adding the mushrooms and carrots
- Toss in the noodles and spinach leaves then pour the seasoning mixture
- Mix in the sesame oil and serve warm
bon appétit! |
