Filipino food has been featured worldwide time and again. And why not? We have some of the most flavorful dishes one can find on this planet. Numerous people from different countries have already testified how much they enjoyed eating food prepared in the Philippines, including those found along sidewalks.
tasty Pinoy street food |
Pinoy street food has definitely captured the palates of both locals and foreign visitors and SM Hypermarket recognizes that. Last year, I wrote about the Pinoy Best Street Food 2014 Grand Finals and it's amazing how fast time passed because the 2015 edition has also just been concluded!

Some of the country's most talented street food cooks once more competed this year for a chance to win a life-changing prize. Ten finalists recently gathered in SM City Sucat to have Kusina Master Chef Boy Logro and his fellow judges choose who will get his/her own food stall at SM Hypermarket rent-free for one year. The grand winner was also awarded P100,000 worth of prizes including large food packs, ingredients, cooking equipment, and more courtesy of SM Hypermarket's Food Service Center, the home of big packs and big savings, plus other hotel, restaurant, and catering needs.

Two teams were chosen by the crowd and the four finalists were Raymond Sombilon of Mangkuk Ilonggo representing SM Hypermarket Sucat, Angelica Bonifacio of Inbisito Eatery representing SM Hypermarket FTI, Erlinda B. Franco of Madam's Eatery representing SM Hypermarket Cainta, and Angelica Libed of Aling Mila's Food Delivery and Catering representing SM Hypermarket Valenzuela.

These four were then tasked to replicate one of Chef Boy's dishes. After shopping for ingredients in SM Hypermarket, they proceeded to recreate the dish and Angelica Bonifacio came out as the grand winner.

Part of the event was a food fair featuring food by the competition's contestants as well as all-time Pinoy favorite food stalls. Lola Ebeng's Prito, Sabaw, at Kulinarya, owned by last year's Grand Champion Jones Guevara, was also present to showcase its award-winning recipes.
Congratulations to Ms. Angelica and her fellow final contenders! More power to your businesses!
