The Bosch Series 8 Ovens Bring Baking, Cooking, and Roasting to New Heights

The annual World Food Expo is a great venue to showcase new technologies in the food industry and I felt privileged to be there as Bosch unveils its latest built-in cooking series at WOFEX 2015 in SMX Convention Center this August 5-8.

Event host Gelli Victor interviewing Chef Jean Charles Dubois
Bosch Series 8 Ovens, which were granted the 2015 German Design Award, feature 21 new technologies that will make preparing dishes a breeze for both novices and seasoned cooks. Host a party with a lavish menu or simply cook for your family with the help of the Series 8's intuitive and sophisticated sensors that guarantee perfect results.

Bosch ambassador Chef Jean Charles Dubois, from the famed Balzac Brasserie and Bar in Singapore, demoed several of his specialties to prove to expo attendees how the Series 8 takes the guesswork out of creating delectable dishes with minimum effort. He showed us how to execute three heavenly recipes that looked really easy to prepare. You really just need an intelligent oven to get the doneness right.

Very often, people who cook have to rely on their senses to gauge when a dish is done according to their preferences. But, with the Series 8, its highly-sophisticated sensors automatically make the necessary adjustments.

Aside from those, there's Bosch's exclusive and newly-developed 4D hot air technology that ensures heat to be evenly distributed for well-balanced cooking results. This consistent heating is delivered by a symmetric, alternating fan driven by the efficient EcoSilence Drive motor. You no longer have to guess where to place your dish. Simply put cooking trays on any of the oven's four baking and roasting levels and you'll still get similar best outcomes, even when you bake and roast on all four levels at once.

This product of German ingenuity also come with a new steam injection function that allows meat dishes to be roasted with hot air and steam resulting to being crispy outside and succulent inside. I didn't know that when you bake in combination with steam, you can also make shiny bread crusts! In addition, the Series 8 can be used to steam veggies and fish in the traditional way while its integrated microwave feature can also reduce cooking time by up to 50 percent.

The fuss-free PerfectBake sensor, on the other hand, regulates moisture levels in the oven cavity for an even bake. This means you can prepare perfectly-risen sponge cakes, muffins, cupcakes, and breads because the oven automatically sets the ideal heating mode, temperature and duration when you put your uncooked item in -- no more under-baked or burnt cakes from now on!

Plus, there's the new PerfectRoast meat probe, a device that measures the core temperature of meats so you can get an exact sense of the doneness of your roasted meat, poultry, or fish at three different points. It has a high level of accuracy that promises perfect roasting results.

Chef Jill Sandique and Chef Kim Castillo were also present to share their recipes cooked using the Bosch Series 8 Ovens. True to Bosch's iconic user-interface design, the ovens are precisely contoured with full metal surfaces, and built with a high-resolution and interactive display. The beautiful exteriors are embellished with glass touch buttons, embossed icon buttons, and brushed stainless shell integrated control rings.
