In 1994, Charlene Gonzales-Muhlach won the Binibining Pilipinas Miss Universe title. She’s 40 now and still looks very much like the young and fresh-faced 19-year-old she was at the time. This must be why, when people talk to her about her days as a beauty queen, it would seem as if it happened just a few years ago.
In this Pond’s video, Charlene reveals that representing the Philippines for the Miss Universe pageant was not the peak of her life. She acknowledges it was just the beginning of her journey to having more beautiful experiences as “My best years are ahead of me.”
“Anything they threw at me, even if I didn’t know how to do it, I just tried it. There’s always room for us to improve. Just don’t be afraid to take the chance,” advises Charlene. Even when it comes to beauty, she affirms “you could always be the most beautiful woman at any age. [At 40], I feel more like a total woman now – mentality, physically, emotionally.”
Ladies, I encourage you to watch Charlene’s Beautiful Story and be inspired at how she welcomed new opportunities with courage, confidence, and a determination to learn.
