We all love seeing our little ones dressed in cute outfits and, thankfully, there are a lot more choices nowadays when it comes to children's clothing.
Earlier today, SM Kids Fashion launched its 2013 Summer Collection with no less than a really cool pool party at Dusit Hotel in Makati City to offer a break from the sweltering heat. After all, summer has officially started and with it comes the scorching temperatures that we all want to get away from as much as possible.
I arrived at the venue around mid-afternoon and was delighted to find out that the pool area is conveniently shaded from the hot rays of the sun by the tall side of hotel building. Instead of warm air, I was greeted with some really cool breezes that merrily swirled around the big tent and colorful decorations that the organizers did a very good job of.
Mommies and their kids enjoyed various food offerings prepared by Dusit Hotel's friendly staff. I brought along my four-year-old niece and my sister-in-law (the little girl won't go anywhere without her mom) and we all enjoyed the program while snacking on the delicious fare that were just a few steps away.
Issa Litton-Garrido, who served as host for the event, introduced Patty Betita who gave tips on how to be comfortable yet stylish during the hottest months of the year. Patty, who is a professional model, beauty queen, and image consultant, called on stage four of her young protégées, a team of junior stylists and budding fashionistas, who arrived in their SM Teens Fashion outfits and confidently shared how they came to choose what they were wearing.
Jo Dy Juanco, Vice President of SM Kids Fashion described that their summer collection for this year is bigger and brighter than ever before as it comes in brilliant hues, bold prints, and breezy fabrics. "Throw a big pool into the mix and you have the perfect summer party," she acknowledged.
True enough, this season's collection is SM Kids Fashion's brightest and most colorful yet as it utilizes several runway trends such as vivid neons and fun prints on a variety of cuts. From handkerchief and smocked dress for the girls to cool statement tees and cargo shorts for the boys, the pieces provide
enough versatility to be worn for various summer activities whether at the mall or on the beach.
The 2013 Summer Collection is now available at all SM Department Stores nationwide. Buy within the following dates below and get personalized styling advice for FREE from Patty and her fashion styling team. There will be two sessions per mall at 3PM and 5PM. They are open to kids 2-14 years old.
Present your receipt with a minimum purchase of P500 from any of the SM Exclusives brands at the Children and Infant's Wear Department and register your child at any of the 10 participating branches. Your child may even walk the ramp afterwards. Take note though that there will be no winners and prizes for joining the fashion show.
