MoneySense magazine's July-August issue features Pokwang, one of the funniest and smartest ladies I've ever met. In the article, she talks about her experiences as a former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), growing up in a ramshackle house, and trading school uniforms and shoes with her sister before she came to be a doting mom and one of today's most-loved comediennes in Philippine show business. Of course, the cover feature includes how she manages her earnings and finds worthwhile investments.
Hands down, this is one of the most unforgettable interviews I ever did with a celebrity. Pokwang shared so many tales about her life that range from extremely funny to downright heartbreaking. I really urge you guys to grab a copy of the magazine and read her inspiring story. If there's one thought I'd have to choose among the wise words she imparted to me, it is her answer to my question on how she keeps a positive attitude all the time: "Kailangan eh, kasi galing na ako sa negative na buhay ... hanggang ngayon ba naman, dadalhin ko pa? Dapat masaya na ako dahil blessed ako ngayon." Now that's the kind of attitude we should all learn to remember having every day!
