Introducing Lacoste.12.12 -- the Lacoste Polo Shirt in a Watch Collection

Anybody who loves fashion could immediately recognize the brand behind the iconic crocodile logo, a symbol which is as popular as the classic cotton petit pique polo shirt that was designed in 1927 by tennis legend Rene Lacoste

Lacoste was nicknamed "The Crocodile" for his tenacity on the court. He was the brain behind the sports uniform that allows for better sweat absorption and freedom of movement. It was interesting to find out that the shirt's name L.12.12 actually came from -- L for Lacoste, 1 for its one-of-a-kind fabric, 2 for its short sleeves, and 12 for the number of the final version of the design he selected for production.

The L.12.12 heralded the birth of a contemporary sportswear that has remained a beloved wardrobe staple for the elegantly athletic. Now, Lacoste's sporting spirit is reignited in the Lacoste.12.12 Watch Collection, which was timely launched yesterday on December 12, 2014 in Shangri-La Makati by country distributor Artful Marketing (a subsidiary of the Lucerne Group) and global licensee Movado Group, Inc.

Julian Addison, MGI President for Asia Pacific, described the Lacoste.12.12 as much like the classic polo shirt it is named after. "[It] embodies the brand's rich history of designing crisp, elegant pieces, and we are really excited to be bringing its 2014 Holiday collection to Manila," he said, adding the observation that, "Filipinos seem to have a tasteful yet practical sense of aesthetics - values that are manifest in these timepieces."

The Lacoste.12.12 is available in six confident colors to suit whatever your mood calls for: grey, red, blue, white, green, and black -- every hue perfectly matching its shirt counterpart. Whatever you choose, the end result is timeless, simple, wearable elegance for work and for play.

Simplicity. Refinement. Comfort. These are the hallmarks of Lacoste's wearable icons. It is fascinating to note that the light, airy pique fabric used for making the polo shirt is faithfully echoed on the watch by an attractive petit pique mesh effect running around the case sides and along the soft-touch silicone strap.

Gotta love all those tiny details!
In addition, the legendary green crocodile can be found on the watch face's 3 o'clock position such that wearing a Lacoste.12.12 timepiece means literally wearing a true classic on your sleeve.
