Two years ago, the Philippines was taken by storm when Magnum was finally launched here. Since then, the brand has become one of Filipinos' first choices when it comes to ice cream bars. After all, the luxurious taste of velvety ice cream and real Belgian chocolate combined to make one decadent bar is enough to keep Magnum fans wanting for more.
This 2014, a few weeks after Magnum Gold came out and was embraced once more by ice cream lovers, the brand is giving fans the ultimate brand experience exactly one week from now through the opening of Magnum Manila.
Located in premium cities around the world, special pop-up establishments called Magnum Pleasure Stores are already tickling people's palates with a wide array of tasty dishes. Uniquely designed to be the go-to hotspot in their respective host cities such as Milan, Cannes, New York, and London, it's now Filipinos' turn to grab those golden tickets when Magnum Manila opens on April 8, 2014 at SM Aura SkyPark at the fifth level.
The other day, we had a sneak preview of this awesome dining place and got to try several of their delicious offerings. I had the Asian Steak Salad first which has a very good vinaigrette dressing.
The Hand Blended Truffle Mushroom Soup is likewise very tasty. It's a great way to warm the tummy before eating any of the scrumptious desserts later.
For the main meal, I tried the Seared Salmon with Basil Creme and Chorizo Confit. I love this dish because the salmon is cooked just right and it is the perfect companion to the crispy vegetables and creamy mashed potato.
Our table was served with three kinds of desserts that are all a must-try when you visit Magnum Manila. The plating is perfect and each dish comes with a complimenting bar of two of Magnum ice cream!
Of course, a visit to this classy store won't be complete without stopping by the Make Your Own Magnum counter where your personal Pleasure Maker (yep, that's what's written on the back of their shirts!) will assist you in choosing where to dunk your Magnum bar plus three toppings (I choose dried mangoes, freeze dried raspberries, and pistachio nuts) and your choice of drizzle.
My pleasure maker, Bon, placed a little round chocolate with the M logo on top of my personalized Magnum Bar. Beautiful!
Magnum Manila features the sleek modern architecture of Ed Calma, the dishes of Chef Him Uy de Baron (executive chef of Chef Cuisine catering and owner of Nomama), and dessert dishes of award-winning Chef Miko Aspiras.
Be in for a treat when you visit Magnum Manila starting April 8! Don't let the heat of summer get to you! Cool down and indulge in this one-of-a-kind dining place while having unique experiences with the people you love. I will!
