This March, well-loved Japanese fast food joint Tokyo Tokyo is changing the game by putting a surprising twist on its tasty Pork Tonkatsu meal. Those who enjoy the establishment's authentic Japanese flavors and hefty servings will be delighted to know about the new Cheese Tonkatsu Bento.
The latest offering has creamy cheese oozing out with every bite of the breaded tender pork cutlets. This cheese-laden meal is savory and satisfying -- a first for Tonkatsu fans to experience.
Harvie Sering, Product Manager for Tokyo Tokyo affirms that the Pork Tonkatsu Bento is a big favorite among their customers. "This time around, we've made it even better with a yummy cheese filling and thicker, juicier pork slices. Diners get the same quality they can find at any specialty Tonkatsu restaurant, but at a really affordable price."
The new bento meal includes a side dish of fresh cabbage strips dressed in a special roasted sesame dressing and all the rice you can eat.
And since summer is almost here, Tokyo Tokyo is also serving a new year-round dessert that can easily chase away the season's heat. Snow Ice is based on a classic Japanese festival offering, the Kakigori, a shaved ice delicacy mixed with various flavored syrups.
Tokyo Tokyo's Snow Ice packs on a whole lot more because it's also incorporating popular Filipino iced desserts like the Halo-Halo. The refreshing delights are served with shaved ice topped with flavorful goodies. The vanilla-flavored ice is described to be similar to fallen snow thus its smoother and lighter consistency compared to typical ice desserts.
"We aim to provide our customers with quality Japanese desserts fit for the Filipino taste buds," says Carissa Loresca, Product Manager for Tokyo Tokyo. "Snow Ice goes with everything on the menu and is also great as a standalone selection."
Snow Ice is available in three flavors: Choco Sensation comes with brownie chances, sweet mini marshmallows, and a generous helping of hot fudge sauce; Mango Peach Medley goes tropical with juicy slices of tangy peach and tart mango; and Halo-Halo is topped with lavish servings of ube, nata, leche flan, and a sprinkle of crunchy cornflakes.
