Treat or Prevent Wrinkles and Acne at YSA Skin Care Center with the Help of Light Emitting Diode (LED) Therapy

One of the new trends in skin care treatment are masks that utilizes Light Emitting Diode (LED) light. I've read the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) first explored the benefits of LEDs in the late 1980's (read article here) for growing plants in space. What they found was that the healing effects of LEDs not only work in stimulating plant growth, but also have positive effects on the human body.

In fact, a NASA article on clinical trials for cancer patients shared, "Biologists have found that cells exposed to near-infrared light from LEDs, which is energy just outside the visible range, grow 150 to 200 percent faster than cells not stimulated by such light. The light arrays increase energy inside cells that speed up the healing process."

Now, LED masks are being used based on those NASA researches with the belief that skin has the ability to absorb infrared light and use it as an energy source for regenerating cells. Photodynamic or LED light therapy are now utilized to reverse and control the visible signs of aging to help patients look younger without undergoing chemical treatments or invasive surgeries.

I like the idea of a painless procedure to maintain my facial skin's good condition. So, I tried the LED mask at YSA Skin Care Center after a facial and found it a pleasant experience. I just had to lie down for about 15-20 minutes and let all the light emitting diodes under the mask do their work. My therapist covered my eyes with some tissue paper before placing the mask over my face. Later, my skin felt tighter but softer. I've yet to undergo several sessions though to really see a big difference.

The LED mask emits two kinds of lights: bluish purple light for acne treatment and red light for anti-aging. Ask your Ysa therapist for the one that your skin needs. This treatment will help soften lines, folds, and wrinkles; promote healthier circulation; increase moisture and radiance; accelerate skin repair; tone the skin surface; and improve skin elasticity and texture. It also stimulates the skin's healing process that's why it can help treat acne.

According to my therapist, noticeable changes will depend on the number of sessions and how your skin responds (because of your physical condition, age, diet, alcohol consumption, smoking habits, etc.) but that the skin will continue to improve as long as you continue to avail of the treatment. One thing you should expect though right after the treatment is having some indentation marks below your eyes but they eventually fade away.
