Disney on Ice 2014 Presents Dare to Dream Delights Kids and Kids-at-Heart

Anybody who grew up reading (or in my kids' case, watching) Disney stories dream of someday being able to visit what many call "the happiest place on earth" -- in short, Disneyland! But while we wait for that day to come, I think the next best thing to fulfilling a Disney dream is to watch a Disney on Ice show.

Two years ago, my youngest son and I got to see Disney on Ice Presents Princesses and Heroes at the Araneta Coliseum and we loved it! Yesterday, thanks to Magnolia Chocolait and Yehey! Digital Group, we got to watch Disney on Ice Presents Dare to Dream.

It was a special trip to The Big Dome this time because we were able to bring along our special child who loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the Disney Junior Channel.

The excitement of kids and kids-at-heart in the audience was contagious. It seemed that cheers got louder as new characters emerged on the ice.

It was delightful to see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy during the energetic opening number. It set the happy mood for the whole duration of the show.

We got to watch shortened versions of Snow White, Cinderella, and Tangled that were all beautifully and seamlessly performed by ice skaters in gorgeous costumes among the amazing sets and props. The Seven Dwarves, Mice, and Maximus the horse were adorable while the wicked stepsisters were really funny!

I'd have to say though that I was most impressed by the aerial performances of Rapunzel and Flynn. That was such a great touch to depict climbing down her long golden hair. Too bad I wasn't able to get a decent shot of those moves. I also mustn't forget to mention that the numerous "floating lanterns" made the stage really pretty.

The whole production is impressive with each segment seemingly getting better than the last. Other beloved Disney characters also made their appearances.

My teenage son even reluctantly admitted that he didn't expect to be as entertained as he did because he initially thought the show was just for little kids. That just affirmed nobody is immune to the Disney charm!

Later, we had a chance for a photo-op with Snow White and her Prince Charming. It was the perfect end to an unforgettable experience. We look forward to watching the show again next year!
