Restaurant Review: Have a Taste of the Delicious Dishes at Eataly in the Heart of San Juan City

Dining is always made more special with delicious food and good company. Tucked in Little Baguio, San Juan City is a cozy place where friends and family could enjoy yummy dishes and great ambiance from Tuesdays to Sundays.

According to its owners, they actually started Eataly with get-togethers in mind. In fact, they already have a lot of good memories dining with loved ones at this establishment. I felt that warm vibe myself when I got to dine there with my husband and our good friend, Ruth, recently.

From the street, the restaurant's fun-looking logo will remove any apprehensions that the posh-looking decorations inside means you have to be in formal attire to enter. The interior is actually very cozy and ideal for intimate conversations or laugh-out-loud swapping of stories with friends (guess in what category we fit in, LOL).

Here's sharing the dishes we had there and what you should look forward to when you come visit … I am getting hungry again just by looking at the photos!

Stuffed Squid - P240
For starters, we had the Stuffed Squid that was grilled and filled with bacon and onions. This is such a treat for someone like me who considers squid as one of my favorite seafood dishes aside from shrimp and scallops. The squid is very tender and the filling is really tasty. I think this is one of the perfect ways to start a meal at Eataly.

Shrimp and Squid Pizza - P375
Of course, a visit to an Italian restaurant shouldn't be without pizza. I thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimps and Squid Pizza that has mozzarella and parmesan cheese in a creamy white sauce and topped with alfalfa sprouts. Given a chance in the future, I think I could finish one of these, all by myself, in one sitting. It is that good!

Lamb Shank - P625
For the main course, we had the Braised Lamb Shank highlighting really tender meat slowly cooked in red wine, tomatoes, and herbs. It is served with flavorful mashed potatoes that complements the lamb perfectly.

Baked Salmon
The Baked Salmon with Pesto Mayo Sauce, is likewise a must-try because the fish is tasty and moist on the inside. This dish is made even more delicious with pesto sauce on top and fresh veggies on the side.

Comparing wine bottle sizes
If you prefer having wine with your meal, there are many choices they serve at the bar. What's notable about this restaurant is that they sell wine by the bottle, not by the glass, to maintain the beverages' freshness. Thus, they have cute bottles of Merlot, Chardonnay, and Shiraz from the Yellow Tail brand that you can order and easily finish with one or two companions. That's a practical and economical way to enjoy really good wine!

Mochamisu - P145
For dessert, we had Mochamisu and Decadence, two indulgent treats that those with a sweet tooth would be very delighted to have.

Decadence - P145
In case you're also looking for a private function room, Eataly has one upstairs. You have the option to just rent the inner room or the whole second floor for your event. They have comfortable seats and spacious floors.

So when you're in the San Juan area, make sure to discover this fairly new establishment where you can unwind at the end of a tiring day or work week. I guarantee, it would be worth it!

I love grand staircases! :)
