GAMBINO: Serving Classic Yet Modern Italian Cuisine

There's a new restaurant in Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City and it serves authentic Italian Cuisine put together by a powerhouse team lead by Chef Giorgio Bucciarelli.  Gambino seats 70 people and welcomes all food aficionados to try and taste its offerings.

Gambino's name is inspired by Carlo Gambino, one of the phenomenal "five families" of the Mafia (Cosa Nostra) which had activities both in Italy and in the United States. Gambino became one of the most powerful bosses in New York City during his regime. Chef Giorgio told us that Gambino is also easy to pronounce for Filipinos as it sounds like it could have originated from our language.

The restaurant boasts of an authentic Italian menu, reminiscent of Italian history but infused with modern twists done in traditional cooking techniques. Chef Giorgio is joined by  Chef Christine Nicole Nicolas, Chef Elaine Sanchez, and actor turned entrepreneur Marvin Agustin who is one of the brains behind other popular establishments such as Sumosam, Kung Fu Kitchen, Tokyo Grill, etc.

I got to try several dishes during Gambino's blessing two days ago and am looking forward to checking out the other items in its menu in the coming days. Gambino's team takes pride in presenting its original homemade Salsicce (Italian Sausage), Carbonara Classica with guanciale, Risotto Tartufo, Chicken Cacciatore, and Beef Carpaccio

The restaurant moreover has a wide array of choices when it comes to "aged" rib-eye steaks, designer pizzas, mouth-watering pastas, and classic Italian entrees. Chef Giorgio assured us that they use only the freshest ingredients and authentic Italian sauce and cheeses. Pizza dough and noodles are likewise served fresh and handmade daily. I love how the dough doesn't leave a thick film of oil on my hand. For me, that's the mark of a good pizza.

And because the people behind Gambino believe that dining without wine is like a day without sunshines, they have a wine selection that combines old and new world beverages. They also serve a selection of Margaritas and Martinis.

If you're looking for a haven for relaxed wining and dining, check out Gambino's cozy interior and personalized service. It's a good place to have lunch or dinner in with friends and family.

Gambino is open from Monday to Sunday, 11AM to 11PM. For reservations and special occasions, please call 550-2164.
