The Ultimate Chicharon Face-Off: Which side are you on?

I like snacking on chips once in a while. I am sure I'm not the only one because munching on snacks is one of many Filipino's favorite past times. And, admit it, one of our all-time favorites would have to be chicharon, right?

Last week, I received two huge and colorful Habi Bags that have cute pea and pig designs.  My youngest son and I definitely had an "O, Wow!" moment when we saw what's inside -- crunchy Oishi snacks that are great alternatives to the traditional chicharon!

The green bag contains Team Pea made up of the three variants of Marty's Vegetarian Chicharon. It's un-pork, truly vegetarian chicharon that has all the goodness of the snack without the cholesterol. Marty's is made with green peas and is available in three flavors: Salt & Vinegar, Plain Salted, and Spicy Vinegar.

On the other hand, the red bag contains Team Porky made up of Baked Porky Popps that's made with the meaty goodness of lean pork skin with a crunch made less guilty by being air-popped, not fried. The crunchy pieces has 30% less fat and calories than regular chicharon. Snack lovers can enjoy it in two flavors: Classic Vinegar and Hot & Spicy.

Among all the five variants, Marty's Salt & Vinegar is my favorite. It has the right salty and sour flavor that I like when eating chicharon without needing to dip them anymore in real vinegar. I find the Baked Porky Popps Classic Vinegar flavor still too spicy for my taste.

How about you? Who's side are you on? #TeamPea vs. #TeamPorky? Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll also go O, Wow! All these snacks are made by Oishi, a company that provides consumers with a wide range of choices when it comes to snack products. Find your O,Wow! moments when you munch on one of these great snacks.
