Security Bank Turns Spotlight on Real People, Real Clients Thru BetterBanking Stories

Security Bank Corporation is celebrating its 65th founding anniversary and part of this milestone is the BetterBanking Stories campaign that shares the triumphs and struggles of real bank clients who all have a good relationship with Security Bank.

Dr. Vicki Belo
The BetterBanking Stories kicked off with a set of TV Commercials featuring Security Bank's relationship with three of its famous clients Dr. Vicki Belo, Erwan Heusaff, and Janine Gutierrez. However, the stories do not end with these celebrities. Security Bank likewise brought attention to its other clients who found success in their own fields through the bank's promise of Better Banking

Erwann Heusaff
Patricia Tan, First Vice President and Retail Marketing Division Head of Security Bank, notes how surprised they were by the positive feedback from their clients and general viewers on the TVCs. "That resulted in the decision to magnify our purview and share the BetterBanking Stories of other customers."

Janine Gutierrez
Housed online on the BetterBanking Stories microsite is a series of interviews with 15 (and counting) personalities from varied walks of life. They are composed on doctors, entrepreneurs, fashion icons, families, and career personalities who are all part of Security Bank's large number of clients nationwide.

Chef Jessie and Andre
I personally found it very interesting how diverse the BetterBanking Stories are. For instance, F&B entrepreneurs like veteran chef Jessie Sincioco and coffee-pioneer Andre Chanco share the excitement and struggles of growing their businesses and, like Erwan, agree that the bank cares about their financial aspirations and has been hands-on in guiding them to resolving daily business setbacks.

Cecile and Juana (with her husband Rick)
On the media side, renowned blogger Cecile van Straten and editorial maven Juana Manahan-Yupangco discuss life before and after children. Like Janine, Cecile shares her convenient, friendly, and seamless experience with the bank from as simple as opening a bank account to applying for a home loan. Fashion experts Criselda Lontok and Tessa Prieto-Valdes, on the other hand, both describe a worry-free and secure experience with Security Bank.

Conversely, budding entrepreneurs would most likely be interested to learn about the challenges of running startups in hyper competitive industries as shared by UXMNL founder Phil Smithson and Spiralytics CEO Jimmy Cassells who rave about the company’s focus on user experience.

There are also stories of doctors who elaborate on their own relationships with patients as well as why they came to choose their career paths. A poignant one is how Dr. Arturo Dela Peña, Medical Director of St. Luke’s Global City, reminisces about falling face-first on horse manure, which motivated him — a farmer’s son — to study hard and become a doctor.

According to Dr. Belo, Dr. Dela Peña, and Dr. Dennis Serrano, they were very much impressed by the bank’s approach to clients because it is relationship-driven. These medical pioneers moreover likened the bank’s approach to an excellent clinical experience medical establishments should provide for its patients.

Correspondingly, new clients also have stories to share. One of them is Hoppler CEO Ramon Ballesca, Jr., who tells tales of how a secured online bank banking platform helps a lot in running a technology based company. He adds how investing is much easier to advance, especially for technically savvy market, with the help of Security Bank.

Although the stories reflect deeply on each individual customer’s life — whether a focus on career growth, raising families, or life in the public eye — they share something in common: an undercurrent of surprise and satisfaction in their relationship with Security Bank.

"For 65 years, Security Bank has always been motivated and focused on the delivery of a better banking experience to its clients through stability and change," described Patricia Tan. "Our clients always inspire us to exceed expectations, and in return we support them to go outside their comfort zones and beyond the horizon."
