SKY On-Demand Levels Up Online Entertainment by Making it Possible to Stream Shows on HD-Ready TVs

Many of us love watching foreign and local TV shows and movies but rarely have time to really sit down during their actual airings. This is exactly why popular streaming site iWant TV was created to enable viewers to still catch up on shows they missed while they were busy with other things.

This March, viewers will no longer have to rely on their PCs or mobile devices to watch movies or their favorite cable TV and local shows because they can now directly stream them on their big HD-ready TV screen at home. SKYcable has just launched SKY On-Demand, which runs on the most advanced digibox to date.

This service harnesses the capabilities of SKYcable and SKYbroadband subscriptions to allow viewers to catch up on missed episodes or relive their favorite movies directly on TV. This is made possible by the impressive and growing video-on-demand library of iWant TV.

Now, every member of the family can stream shows like House of Cards, Master Chef, Pawn Stars, Bondi Vet, Scorpion, Extant, Ben 10, Dora, Adventure Time, Chowder, TV Patrol, ASAP, Forevermore, Two Wives, and a lot more from channels like RTL-CBS, History, Asian Food Channel, Food Network Asia, E!, Lifetime, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, ANC, and ABS-CBN

Very soon, other programs such as Asia's Got Talent, The Amazing Race, The Voice, How to Get Away with Murder, Jane the Virgin, and more from channels such as AXN, Disney, Disney Jr., and Sony TV will be added to the SKY On-Demand library. Please take note that the number of available shows and channels for streaming will depend on subscribers' current cable TV plan.

To take your viewing experience at home to the next level, SKY On-Demand also brings video playback functionality and personal playlist creation to TV screens. "SKY continues to push technology to the next level with only one objective in mind -- to Wow its customers," said SKYcable Corporation's COO Rodrigo Montinola.

To use SKY On-Demand, subscribers simply have to upgrade their current SD or HD digibox to the new SKY On-Demand digibox for a one-time fee of as low as P499 depending on their subscription plan. You can also opt-in to upgrade starting this March.

For new SKYcable subscribers, this service can be availed for as low as P2,199 installation fee. Although SKY On-Demand can be accessed using other wired home internet providers, this value-added service is best experienced with SKYbroadband. Aside from getting fast internet connection, subscribers can also enjoy premium access to special foreign and local movie titles from Paramount Pictures, NBC-Universal, Star Cinema, Regal Films, and Viva Films.

SKY On-Demand's sneak peek event, entitled The Big Level-Up, was held at The Loft @ Manansala in Rockwell. It was hosted by Kapamilya stars JM Rodriguez and Maricar Reyes-Poon. Guests were treated with beautiful music from a saxophone player and amazing musical numbers by the very talented Morissette Amon
