Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) Launches "Let's Meat Up" Program for Consumers with Dishes by Malou Perez-Nievera

I am a fan of Australian meat, which my family regularly buys from Shopwise. The beef steak cuts, especially, are easy to cook. In fact, I've shared a simple steak recipe before in this blog using Aussie beef.

For sure, other moms always also find it a pleasure to cook and serve good food to their loved ones. After all, dining with family and friends is considered one of the highlights of weekends and get-togethers. These are where treasured family recipes are usually prepared and culinary secrets are revealed to be handed down to the younger generations who are also interested in cooking.

In a lot of moms' experiences, weekends are the best times to cook beef dishes because these do take time as many are quite complex to prepare. Thus, not-so-confident cooks tend to limit their recipe choices to the usual main course menus they're used to serving.

This kind of habit is what Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) wants to revolutionize according to Peter Paul Perez, Country Manager to the Philippines and Vietnam, during the launch of their consumer-based program called Let's Meat Up.

MLA teamed up with Malou Perez-Nievera, Filipino food proponent and entrepreneur, culinary teacher, and the creative force behind the blog Skip to Malou, on developing recipes using Aussie beef and lamb that are healthy, delicious, and easy to do.

During the launch held in Kitchen 1B located at the KL Tower in Makati, Malou shared with us five of her original recipes to show that there's nothing to be apprehensive about when it comes to cooking True Aussie Beef.

I am glad that I attended this event because I discovered new ways to prepare Australian beef! All of Malou's recipes -- Mango Tango Australian Beef Tenderloin, Australian Beef Sirloin with Hoisin and Fish Sauce Reduction, Australian Beef Wrapped Shrimp on Chili Gravy, Sesame Meatballs, and Breakfast Tapa Burrito -- are delicious and look really easy to do. I'll try making them one at a time at home and share the complete recipes when I blog about them :)
