Viber Stages Its Biggest Event Yet This June 2014

June 12 is Independence Day in the Philippines. Thus, it is fitting to hold a thrilling party the night before. Viber, the leading free instant messaging application in the country will do just that with #OneVibePH

To be held at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds on June 11, 2014, the event aims to integrate Philippine modern culture to modern music and to encourage Filipino pride in terms of music and its artistry as well as food and culture in one big event.

"We are very excited. We wanted to do something like Spring Break but integrated with Philippine culture," expressed Crystal Lee, Viber's Country Manager, during a press con held in TGI Friday's in Bonifacio Global City. "After the success of #Viberacay, which dominated the island of Boracay during the Labor Day weekend, Viber wishes to celebrate the Philippine Independence Day since we already have our local office here in Manila providing free messaging to 13 million Viber subscribers"

She added that this is an opportunity for them to gather and let Viber users enjoy the biggest electronic event and dance to the music of local DJs. "Viber users will come out of the event with lots of freebies. We promise a full experience including free bus rides and one peso beer!" promised Lee.

Since #OneVibePH is considered Viber's most challenging event, the company tapped experts in their respective fields -- Domini Primero of Driven Manila and Stephen Ku of Eventscape -- to mount the said event.

"This is very exciting because it has never been done before. We're about to unleash the biggest party tapping all the prime clubs in Manila to come as one. So far, 12 venues will be closed on June 11 to celebrate with us," announced Primero. The 12 clubs are Aracama, Dilingers, The Distillery, Haze, HyvE, Imperial, Prive, Prohibition, Republiq, Skye, Time, and URBN.

"For one night, there is nowhere to go except #OneVibePH," reminded Ku who was quick to mention that even though the event is open for 16-year-olds and up, guests should be of age and have an alcohol strap to be able to buy alcohol at the venue.

"The will be big prizes from unique activities," revealed Ku. "You may want to bring waterproof bags and extra clothes. But, Viber may provide waterproof bags like in Boracay. Let's see. Just remember to dress appropriately, drink moderately, and have fun!"

Primero said they'll open the gates at 4PM and the first performer will start at 6PM. Local acts will be the ones to headline the event with international artists like Apl de Ap and Infected Mushrooms also performing at 12MN and 3AM respectively.

Other performers include DJ Filipino-Dutch Laidback Luke, Filipino DJs Funk Avy, Mars Miranda, plus another foreign DJ, Hard Rock Sofa, will also join the event in support of Filipino talents.
