Mecca Music's Champ Lui Pio Introduces New Talent in Luigi D'Avola

Former Hale frontman Champ Lui Pio, now CEO of Mecca Music, has already proven his aptitude for artist management after successfully launching his first artist Rez Toledo, more popularly known as Somedaydream, two years ago.

This 2013, Champ proudly presents Luigi D'Avola (pronounced Da-vola), a fresh new face and talent who brings more than music to the entertainment industry. The eighteen-year-old musician who hails from Cebu is more than ready to face the limelight especially now that his first single, Take A Chance, debuted on top of radio lists.

In addition, Take A Chance's music video has already become viral after being uploaded on YouTube, garnering 20,000 views within the first three weeks. The saccharine, bubble-gum pop track that speaks about moving way beyond limits moreover opened doors for Luigi on MYX Channel's Pinoy MYX Countdown's top 15 in just two weeks.

"At Mecca Music, we take pride in producing and managing our artists. It’s a process that we put a lot of time and hard work. We really invest in our artists and make sure we guide them to reach their full potential," shares Champ. "Luigi is a testament to that commitment, we are very excited to launch his music which we have worked on for almost a year now.  We believe that he will break grounds in the music industry this 2013."

Following the success of Mecca Music's first talent Somedaydream, Champ signs up Luigi with a debut album slated to come out this coming March. Luigi is a budding star in his own right, having worked with the likes of multi-awarded sound engineer Angee Rozul and Monty Macalino of Mayonnaise. While completing his album, Luigi admits being drawn to Champ’s “determination and passion for music.”

Luigi comes from a family of musicians -- he is the brother of Urbandub's lead vocalist Gabby Alipe. The young man expresses to having "a small dream [and] finally making it bigger than I wished for” by taking a leap, crossing boundaries and pushing the limits while still staying true to himself.

If you watched SMART Telecomm’s LIVE MORE campaign music video It’s Your Life, you would most likely have already seen Luigi there with Somedaydream and Champ. At the moment, Luigi is doing live performances across Metro Manila with a growing fan base on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

According to Champ, “My mission is to uplift the quality of music in the country, to introduce new and fresh music. I want to excite music lovers out there and to challenge the norm. Managing and producing is very personal to me, I want my artists to share the same passion for music.”

The dedicated manager demonstrated that he has the talent and ear to craft a hit record when  Somedaydream became one of the fastest rising artists since his debut in 2011 with the commercially acclaimed song “Hey Daydreamer” and clinching projects with Selecta’s Cornetto, Coke, Yamaha and SMART.

Recently, Somedaydream was awarded as 2012 MYX Music Awards’ Favorite Celebrity VJ; 25th Awit Awards’ Most Downloaded Song and Most downloaded Ring Back Tone for Hey Daydreamer; and RX 93.1’s Song of the Year for Sing This Song.
