Craving for Waffles

Every time my kids come with me to the mall, the first thing they’d usually say is, “Let’s eat!” even though we’ve just eaten a meal at home. But I do concede to buy them snacks as long as the food is nutritious aside from being yummy.

One of our favorite snack destinations in Festival Mall, Alabang is the Waffle Time kiosk at the food court. They have lots of flavor variants so we are able to easily choose what we want. Since I’m not too big on sweets, I often order a waffle with Canadian Bacon filling while the kids would opt for the sweet ones like Belgian Choco or Bavarian Cream.

Some of the other available fillings include American Hotdog, Cheese Delite, Tuna Salad, German Cheese Franks, Ham & Cheese, Spicy Chikendog, Mango Magic, Pineapple Pleasure, Swiss Chocolate, Ultimate Ube, Very Blueberry, Strawberry Surprise, and Choc-nut.

*Sigh* Just typing those flavours made me crave for waffles again! :S

I like waffles because they’re easy to eat, even if you have to walk around the mall if you’re in a hurry. They’re ideal for people on the go who need to appease a grumbling tummy, fast. They’re also filling and healthier than other fried options and are great as pasalubong!

What’s great about Waffle Time products is that they can be stored in the freezer for about a week. When you want to eat them, just thaw for a few minutes then heat in the microwave or oven toaster. Instant merienda! And now that another school year is about to start, these are perfect for those hurried mornings when moms lack enough time to prepare elaborate baon for their kids.

I also appreciate that Waffle Time uses bio-degradable packaging which gets a thumbs up sign from environmental advocates like me.

If you’re wondering about the waffle prices, their cheapest variants are sold at P10 while the most expensive one is at P20. Value for money indeed!

And for those who are planning their kids’ birthday parties, Waffle Time can bring a cart to your venue. The P4,500 fee comes complete with 100 waffles and service crew who will cook waffles on site. For an additional P500, kids will get to meet Waffy, their mascot.

Waffle Time has 423 branches nationwide and has 8 branches in Indonesia. They are open to franchising and provide intensive training for the franchisees and their crew.
