Two Puzzling Movies to Watch Out For

It feels a bit weird that I got to watch the press screenings of two movies two nights in a row that both had me guessing almost all throughout the story. They have uncannily similar themes: men who had their lives taken from them and which they have to fight for to get back.

First is Unknown, starring Liam Neeson as Dr. Martin Harris, an American scientist who had an accident on his first day in Berlin. He awakens four days later to discover that his wife (January Jones) no longer recognizes him while another man (Aidan Quinn) assumes his identity. Martin finds himself ignored by authorities, pursued by assassins, alone, tired, and on the run.

Martin then tries to uncover the mystery that will challenge his sanity as well as his overwhelming need to uncover the truth.

Next is Adjustment Bureau starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. I found the movie somewhat a fusion of the movies Total Recall, The Matrix, and Minority Report. The story is about a man who discovers that his future was already written for him but realizes that he wants something else entirely.

I don't want to reveal too much of the two stories because it might spoil your chances of finding out for yourself how the movies will end. What I will tell though is to go see these films when they come out in theaters because they really are worth watching.

Please stay tuned to this blog for full-length reviews of both movies in the next coming days.
